Hello! My name is Jess Fox. I am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. I received my master's degree from Lewis and Clark College in 2022. I provide individual, relational and family therapy to people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. I have experience working with kids, teens, adults, LBGTQIA2S+, gender diverse, all ethnicities, all body sizes, and all abilities. I work with all relationships, including monogamous, non-monogamy, polyamory, and relational anarchy. I am sex-positive and knowledgeable of kink/BDSM relationships.
I identify as a bi-racial (Mexican American), second generation, Latinx, queer, gender fluid, kinky person, harm reductionist enthusiasts, who currently exists in a mid-size body. These identities are a fraction of who I am. It is important to share aspects of my identity as they have shaped how I navigate the world. As a person with intersectional identities, I have experienced having to hide parts of myself. I have also been in spaces with people where I'm cared for, loved, and true to my authentic self. Because of this, I approach therapy as a way to meet people where they are at in their lives and work together collaboratively, so people can live as their most authentic selves. Life can bring us uncertainty and challenges; as a therapist, I believe people deserve to express themselves and be heard in an open, curious, and non-judgmental space.
I would like to graciously challenge you to step forward into growth while also creating boundaries to fall back into safety when needed. We can explore what path will lead you to authenticity in our space together.
In our session, I will incorporate somatic/mindfulness interventions to connect to your body, emotions, and self as we navigate difficulties that arise. I am strengths-based, and client center focused. I approach therapy from an ecosystemic and relational lens; this looks like I believe we are in connection with each other and the spaces we occupy, knowing our daily life can be impacted by larger systems such as capitalism and white supremacy. My goal in therapy is to help people access a space of authenticity and connection to themselves and their communities. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities stemming from Systems therapy and Intersectional/Feminist perspectives, such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Theory, and Polyvagal.
I look forward to meeting you, sitting with discomfort, and celebrating your progress on your healing journey.
