Liberatory Approaches to Healing Trauma & Integrating Expansive Sexual Expression

Most of our current clinical templates for addressing sexual trauma focus on the individual— what’s happened to you, your body, your brain, and how we fix it. We don't live in a vacuum so we must use holistic approaches that incorporate the social realities we exist in. Focusing solely on our individual, internal oppression negates the ideological, interpersonal, as well as institutional oppression we navigate. Incorporating broader avenues of reality helps to create long term pathways for healing & growth. In this collaborative workshop, we will explore liberatory approaches to healing sexual trauma including unpacking systemic oppression, engaging with intergenerational resourcing and stories, and integrating somatic tools. We will explore what it means to move towards expansive sexual expression, as both a destination & a pathway to healing.
