Marriage and Family Therapy Associate

Couples Therapy, Identity Exploration, LGBTQIA+, Emotion Focused Therapy, Parts Work, & Somatic Therapy

Welcome! I’m Adele (she/her). I am a white, queer, able bodied, cis woman who– admittedly– continues to explore and experiment with some of these identities. Wanting to be a therapist came as a surprise to me. I had always wanted to be an anthropologist. It took me some time, and a pandemic, to figure out that the core of both of these fields is a love for the exploration of the human experience. While working as a counselor and survivor advocate in California, I saw that the systemic and cultural approach I was taught in undergrad could be directly applied to individuals and families in a helpful way. I believe by building or repairing the connection between the self and body, we can learn to identify our needs allowing us to find creative and exciting ways of existing, despite the imposed expectations and systems in place.

I graduated from Lewis and Clark College with a Masters in Marriage, Couples, and Family therapy with a special interest in, and focus on, sex therapy. In my work, I help clients see patterns in behavior to help identify deeper underlying emotions and needs based on such patterns. To do this, I primarily use emotion focused therapy and parts work while also integrating somatic practices.

I hope to work with a broad range of clients, including couples, different relationship configurations, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodiverse humans. My approach emphasizes curiosity, is trauma informed, sex-positive, and affirming. I strive to ensure that clients feel valued, understood, and supported as they navigate life’s complexities and transitions.
