Professional Counselor Associate
Intergenerational trauma, anxiety, identity
exploration, relationship concerns, and experiences of marginalization.
I am a Professional Counselor Associate and graduate of Portland State University's Clinical
Mental Health Counseling program. My clinical experiences have included working with
individual adults from diverse backgrounds navigating intergenerational trauma, anxiety, identity
exploration, relationship concerns, and experiences of marginalization.
I’m a cis gender able-bodied second-generation South Asian American woman and my work in
counseling is grounded in the belief that healing happens when we feel safe enough to come
home to ourselves. I bring a culturally affirming, body-centered approach to therapy—one that
honors your full story, including your ancestry, identity, and lived experiences. I am particularly
interested in the ways culture, family systems, intergenerational experiences, and identity shape
emotional wellbeing.
I believe our bodies and nervous systems learn ways of protecting us, often outside of our
conscious awareness. Stress, trauma, grief, relationships, culture, and life experiences can shape
the way our nervous systems respond to the world around us. Sometimes these patterns help us
survive difficult circumstances. Over time, however, they can leave us feeling disconnected from
ourselves, overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward.
My approach to counseling is grounded in the belief that healing occurs not only through talking
about our experiences, but also through developing a deeper awareness of our emotional and
bodily experiences. By slowing down and paying attention to what is happening in the present
moment, we can begin to understand ourselves in new ways and create opportunities for lasting
change.
