Graduate Level Clinical Mental Health Intern
Sex Workers, LGBTQIA+, Recovery, Identity Exploration, Family of Origin Issues
Hi, I’m Ellie (she/her). I am a white, queer, able-bodied, cisgender woman and former sex worker in long-term recovery. I am passionate about creating safe and affirming spaces for people whose lives have been impacted by stigma, trauma, and marginalization. My own lived experience informs the compassion and authenticity I bring into the therapy room, where I believe healing happens through courage, presence, and connection.
I am completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University and hold a BA in Sociocultural Anthropology from the University of California, San Diego. My training and experience have been shaped by work in the nonprofit sector supporting survivors of sexual assault, sex trafficking, and the foster care system, as well as providing crisis intervention for both youth and adults experiencing suicidal thoughts. These experiences strengthened my commitment to trauma-informed, inclusive care.
I focus on working with sex workers, LGBTQIA+ communities, and individuals navigating recovery, identity exploration, and family-of-origin wounds. My clinical orientation is rooted in a person-centered and feminist lens. I draw from somatic awareness, parts work, mindfulness, and relational approaches, grounded in a strengths-based perspective. As a certified yoga teacher, I may incorporate elements of meditation, breathwork, and body awareness when it feels supportive, inviting clients to connect more deeply with their own resilience and embodied healing.
