(they/them)

Graduate Level Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

Dance/Movement therapy, Artists, participants in counterculture and alternative lifestyles, survivors of trauma, and Adult Children of Alcoholics.

Hi there! My name is Jenna (they/them) and I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern here at Connective Therapy Collective. I identify as white, nonbinary, and disabled, and I have called the Portland area my home for over a decade.

My work in mental health is heavily influenced by my previous career working in the performing arts industry, where expression and identity are paramount. I find inspiration in the time I spend in the Portland arts community, whether I'm dancing, designing, or drumming. I earned my undergraduate degree in Theatre from Pacific University and I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Dance/Movement Therapy with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University New England. I have a particular interest in working with artists, participants in counterculture and alternative lifestyles, survivors of trauma, and Adult Children of Alcoholics. I value authenticity, consent, and safety within my work and I am always working to create an anti-oppressive and trauma informed space inside the therapy room.

As a therapist, I view my clients and their goals through a systemic and relational lens. We are all constellations made up of the stars of our community. My foundation is in Dance/Movement therapy, which is found at the intersection of expressive arts therapy and somatic therapy and addresses healing across the full spectrum of the Mind/Body continuum. I am also informed and influenced by attachment theory, victim advocacy, and postmodern modalities.
