Hi there, I’m Kelsey (they/them), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, practicing since 2019. I’m a white, mostly able-bodied, nonbinary trans person.

My practice is informed by my identities and experiences, especially as a neurodivergent artist, polyamorous queer and trans person, former theatre nerd, a young adulthood in Chicago, and a childhood in the Bible Belt. When I’m not working I enjoy creating art, crafting, gardening, spending time with my beloved

community, or, during the summer, exploring local watering holes and riding my bike. I graduated from Lewis and Clark Graduate School with a degree in Marriage, Couples and Family Therapy with a track in sex therapy and specialty training in Emotion Focused Therapy. I have experience and interest in working with grief, trauma, sexual issues, monogamous and non-monogamous relational issues, conflict, kink/BDSM, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, and addictions. I value transparency, feedback, humor, and an anti-oppressive, nonjudgmental

approach, all while remaining mindful of the influence of power dynamics, oppression, identity, and culture on clients & experiences in the world.

As a therapist, I see clients as small molecules within a larger organism of community—helping you helps your relationships which, in turn, helps your communities. My style is relational, empathetic, and challenging, often focusing on exploring clients & relationships with themselves and others, and understanding how past experiences shape their present. This might include

the challenging work of confronting internal resistance, advocating for boundaries, and braving through conflict that often feels scary. I utilize an eclectic person-centered approach rooted in a systemic lens, informed by interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory. This mostly means I incorporate how emotions are felt, the meaning we make from them, how they’re

informed by our previous relationships, and how we communicate about them now.
