Hi! I'm Lo, a white, mostly able bodied, nonbinary and queer person. I am a graduate level relational counselor finishing my degree at Portland State University.
I approach counseling as an opportunity to explore how our relationships, identities, and the systems we live within influence our experiences and emotional worlds. Coming into the room, I bring with me a background in Catholic school and religious trauma, being a member of what I jokingly call the “dead dad’s club,” living as a fat and happy person, being a sex worker, and in being queer and nonmonogamous.
I bring both lived experience and a genuine desire to learn alongside my clients, especially in the realms of grief and bereavement, terminal illness and caregiving, sex and sexuality, sex work and kink, and monogamous or non-monogamous relational structures. I really hope to build a collaborative space where you feel comfortable honoring humor, giving feedback, and expressing vulnerability in any form. Therapy can be a place to experiment with which relational styles work, what self-advocacy looks like, and how we can be in community with others in the ways that feel most authentic to us.
When I'm not working, you can usually find me getting or giving tattoos, laughing with friends, attending queer events, crocheting or crafting in another way, soaking up the sun at the river, or talking astrology. I feel very honored to learn from the people I work with, and I am so looking forward to meeting you!
Accessibility: In acknowledgment of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, I practice masking in many public spaces outside of the counseling room. However, please reach out and I am happy to collaborate on how to make the space more accessible for you, in whatever ways that looks like.
